Job Description:

The Lead Security Engineer will work directly with the Director of Compliance and SaaS Operations Management team in the development and maintenance of security systems, automation and controls. This role works collaboratively with Operations Engineers to deploy and operate our systems securely. The Lead Security Engineer has a passion for automation and streamlining our security operations and processes, building and maintaining tools for monitoring, eschews manual tasks and investigates incidents and potential incidents. The ideal candidate for this position ensures security standards are maintained and provides visibility to trends and best practices within their area of responsibility.


• Work with the VP of SaaS Ops and Director of Compliance to ensure efficacy, security and resiliency across the SaaS platform

• Help to implement security programs and procedures for both the SaaS platform and corporate systems

• Work with Operations Engineers to maintain system patching, updates and network changes as required by company security policy

• Develop processes and procedures for Testing the platform for vulnerabilities

• Monitor for and Investigate Security Breaches

• Maintain and deploy code within the designated code management tools

• Participate in security reviews for product releases

• Assist in audit activities for PCI and SOC certification

Qualifications: Required

• BS in Computer Science / Math / Engineering or related field or equivalent experience

• 5+ years relevant experience

• Cloud Computing platforms experience

• Experience with automation tools such as Terraform, Puppet and Ansible

• Direct experience with anti-virus software, intrusion detection, firewalls and related systems

• Knowledge of risk assessment tools, technologies and methods

• Experience designing secure networks, systems and application architectures

• Understanding of intrusion detection/prevention & ability to read security logs

• Professional experience in a system administration role supporting multiple platforms and applications

• Ability to communicate network security issues to peers and management

• Ability to read and review Java and/or Python code for security risks, recognize malicious code and malware activity.

• Experience with SOC and PCI compliance audits

Qualifications: Nice to have

• Development experience with Java, Python, Go or other languages

• Ethical Hacking / Penetration Testing experience

• Experience with monitoring tools and log analysis

• Agile development, continuous integration and automated testing experience
