QSC Launches Q‑SYS™ Reflect Enterprise Manager Using Gotransverse to Handle New Subscription Billing

QSC is a world leader in immersive audio and video, providing high-performance AV components such as loudspeakers, amplifiers, digital mixers, and audio processors for use in movie theaters, conference centers, theme parks, and businesses. As AV technology continues to evolve, QSC has continued to expand its digital AV ecosystem including adding an enterprise management software solution. Its new Q-SYS™ Reflect Enterprise Manager cloud platform is a remote management and monitoring system for troubleshooting and controlling remote digital AV devices.

Since it is enterprise software, Q-SYS Reflect Enterprise Manager is a new type of product for QSC, requiring a new sales and recurring revenue model. To accommodate enterprise software subscriptions, QSC engaged Gotransverse to develop a reliable, scalable billing systems capable accurately managing billing and payments tied to customer hardware. Gotransverse has become the foundation for QSC’s growing enterprise software strategy.

Creating a Subscription Billing Service with Hardware Validation

When QSC decided to offer Q-SYS Enterprise Manager to customers, they recognized the need to create a new billing model to go with its new cloud software technology. Taking a page from other enterprise software providers, QSC executives opted for a subscription pricing model, offering the base Q-SYS Enterprise Manager software free of charge and then adding monthly fees for value-added features. That meant they needed a new billing and revenue administration system that could track user licenses and automate invoicing.

Where many enterprise software providers offer user licenses, Q-SYS Enterprise Manager is licensed according to the number of devices being managed. They offer three basic licensing tiers – Basic, Standard, and Professional – providing different levels of management, real-time monitoring, and disaster recovery. To accurately bill customers the QSC system has to be able to match the software subscription against the number of authorized devices under management. They are offering Q-SYS Enterprise Manager at no charge through January 2021.

Offering subscription sales of AV management software is a new departure for QSC and we chose Gotransverse to help us design the billing systems because of their reputation and their ability to work with us to design a global billing solution customized to our needs. Flexibility to Handle International Billing and Channel Sales

In addition to direct sales, QSC also maintains a network of referral and reseller partners. By adopting Gotransverse for billing, Q-SYS Enterprise Manager licenses can be offered through channel partners as easily it is sold directly to customers. Gotransverse can not only accommodate billing but calculates commissions and discounts as well.

Since QSC is a global company, internationalization was another important consideration. QSC is currently offering Q-SYS Reflect Enterprise Manager in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Switzerland, and Austria, with plans to add other global markets in the coming months. Gotransverse simplifies global commerce with regional invoice templates, localized notifications, and invoicing in local currencies. It also integrates with other solutions to simplify administration for sales tax, regional tax, and VAT.
