New TRACT® release automates customer notifications, adds customer activity displays, and facilitates specialized pricing.

Austin, TX - September 10, 2012 - Gotransverse today unveiled the September 2012 release updates for TRACT® – the all-in-one activity-based billing, rating, and subscription management platform. The September 2012 TRACT® release includes new features that help businesses manage their customers’ accounts and tailor pricing.

“Our cloud-based TRACT billing platform is constantly evolving to incorporate new features based on customer feedback and roadmap plans,” said Stephan Pahlke, vice president of product solutions at Gotransverse. “We build out and add functionality so our customers can focus on their core business, not on software development.”

TRACT Makes it Easier to Manage Customer Accounts

The September 2012 TRACT release allows companies to set up new rules based on how customers are using goods or services. Now available, TRACT business users can set rules to automatically notify their customers when:

  • The customer has consumed nearly all of their product or service allowance. For example, the customer will receive an email notification when 90 percent of their service is used (e.g., minutes, megabytes, miles, kilowatts, etc.), allowing them to decide whether to upgrade or reorder before overage pricing takes effect. Automatic reordering may also be configured to ensure there are no service interruptions or overage charges.
  • The customer is eligible for a cross-product promotion. For example, a business may incentivize use of one product by offering a discount or bonus when set levels of activities are reached (e.g., buy five movie downloads and get five free music downloads).

In addition, TRACT account managers now have additional business intelligence options for each account. On a single account summary page, TRACT users are able to view insightful customer graphics such as:

  • Customer lifetime value (CLV), which displays the total dollar amount the customer has been invoiced since activation as compared to other customers.
  • Monthly recurring revenue (MRR), which is the sum of all recurring monthly charges for all active services.
  • Contracted monthly recurring revenue (CMRR), which shows how much revenue remains in a customer’s agreement or contract.
  • Activity-based revenue (ABR), which graphs the last three months of revenue that resulted specifically from activity charges, not monthly recurring charges.

TRACT Enables Segmented Pricing

The September 2012 TRACT release introduces the concept of marketplaces and pricelists that enable a business to maintain a single product catalog, but set multiple commercial pricelists based on characteristics (e.g., reseller, distributor, regional sales territories, countries). Using this functionality, TRACT can be configured to charge customers specific rates based on their profile. This eliminates much of the confusion that can arise when businesses with complex channel distribution and pricing structures move to an automated billing platform.

“Many businesses sell products and services through distributors or value added resellers that charge different prices,” said Pahlke. “Simple subscription billing platforms just can’t handle this kind of pricing specification the way that a configurable, activity-based billing platform like TRACT can.”
